🦉The Heart of World Book Day ❤️
The costumes were incredible, but the real magic was much quieter. For us, the greatest joy of the day is the simple excuse to spend time sharing stories together. 📖

Our school council did a wonderful job this week of organising a second hand book sale. Every child had a 'Wilden book voucher' so they could choose a book for free. It was great to see so many books heading off to new homes! Many thanks to all those who donated books.
📚World Book day at Wilden is a day filled with fun, joy and most importantly...BOOKS! We had a brilliant day. Take a look at some of our costumes! Even a few staff insisted on getting in on the action! 📚

🌟 Wilden’s Got Talent 2026 🌟

What a wonderful day! Our finalists were absolutely incredible, we are so proud of them all!

At Wilden, this competition is about more than just a trophy. It’s about every single child having the opportunity to stand up, perform, and share their talents. From the house selections to the grand final, this was truly a child-led event that showcased the incredible spirit of our school.

Huge congratulations to our finalists and a massive well done to everyone who took part! 🎭✨
Book week has featured all week in forest school! 📚

Reception, Year 1 and year 2 have been focusing on traditional stories, the art of storytelling without book, making houses for the 3 little pigs and trying some delicious porridge.

Year 4 focused on the most famous of storytellers William Shakespeare, trying their hand and reading and performing some of the Scottish play.

Year 5 took inspiration from their English topic using the book, Lunar by Chris Bradford and made up their own dramatic crisis set on the lunar surface and how they solved the problem.
This year we have committed to providing forest school experiences for all classes through the school. For older primary students, it’s a vital tool for Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH):

🧠 Stress Relief: A natural "reset" from exam pressure and screens.

✨ Resilience: Building confidence through real-world problem solving.

🤝 Teamwork: Developing leadership and communication in the wild.

🌿 Regulation: Providing the space and calm to manage big emotions.

It’s not just a walk in the woods—it’s building the emotional toolkit they need for the future.

Preschool have been so busy this week and had lots of fun celebrating Chinese New year
Our Year 4 class had an unforgettable trip to see The Lion King at the Lyceum Theatre this week! As part of our Theatre Topic, the children got a firsthand look at the magic of West End production, costume and set design, and world-class storytelling.

It was a day filled with education, inspiration, and huge smiles from students, staff, and parents alike. Even Harold the Giraffe was spotted in the crowd enjoying the show! 🦒

Huge thanks to everyone who helped make this incredible day out possible.
