It is with the utmost sadness that we announce the untimely death of our wonderful and inspiring headteacher Francesca Fishwick.

As you know she had been very poorly for some months and passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning with her family by her side. She is now at peace with God but we mourn a huge loss.

Fran was a truly inspirational leader who cared deeply for all the children of Wilden; they were at the heart of everything she did. Her enthusiasm and enFranergy were unstoppable, her wisdom and compassion immeasurable. Her character was resilient and, even in sickness, she remained strong and positive to the end.

As staff, we will all work together to support each other and our children through this difficult time. We are grateful too, for the support from our extended families - the Diocese and the Severn Academies Educational Trust.

Our thoughts and prayers are also, of course, with Fran’s own family, her parents, sister, husband and three young children and with her close friends beyond our school community.

Although her life on this earth has been cut short, Fran has left us an amazing legacy and her spirit will never leave us.
